Hope Center Volunteers Needed

The Hope Center, a compassion ministry of WELS United located in Appleton, serves more than 160 local families every month with practical needs and the good news of Jesus. We are currently in need of additional volunteers, especially 2pm-5pm on Wednesdays, but also on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons. Volunteers with every gift can be used from packing supply bags to greeting clients. Time commitment can vary from once a month to weekly. Reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, Jen Grady, at 920-739-0039 or information@hope-center.org to learn more about how you can serve to provide help and hope to our neighbors in need.

New Midweek Oasis Study

What do you think of when you hear the words, ‘a pastoral setting?’ Do you think of a Kentucky farm, with fields of bluegrass, ringed by split-rail fences, with thoroughbred horses cavorting? What does the word pastoral mean to you? The Midweek Oasis Bible study will be starting a study of the Pastoral Epistles from the New Testament, and we’ll see just what that means. Come join us to study these letters to young pastors, that have much for us all to learn - Wednesdays at 10AM!

New Sermon Series - Psalms for Lent: The Struggle

·The road to the cross was a struggle. This Lenten season, we see Jesus rejected by his people and betrayed by his disciple. The struggle was real. The Christian life is a struggle too.  Faith in Christ doesn’t make us exempt from difficulties. But faith in Christ does give us strength to press on. The weekends this Lenten season, we will meditate on the words of the Psalm writers, who put the struggle of the believer into poetry and prayer. Their God is our God. This is a Savior who entered our struggle to win the victory over the struggle, to equip us for our struggle. The struggle is real. The struggle is good.
