We're excited to say that the local Swamp Strings group is coming to beautify our Saturday evening worship at Bethany on Saturday, October 11. It’s a great mix of a bunch of different stringed instruments that will bring joy to our worship service. Donations are needed at the food pantry, especially the following items: Adult cereals, canned corn, peas, carrots and mixed veggies, baked beans/pork n beans, spaghetti noodles and pasta sauces, chunky soups, chili and stews, canned pasta, canned tuna and chicken, packaged egg noodles, etc., canned fruits, helper meals, cookies and crackers, hand soap, dish soap and laundry soap (48 loads or less).
Monetary gifts may be mailed to the Apple Valley Food Pantry, 2603 W. College Avenue, Appleton WI 54914.

Updated start time for FVL Concert!
There is an updated start time for the concert! It now starts at 1PM at FVL!
The FVL Bands and Choirs are presenting their fall sacred concert in the FVL Auditorium at 1pm on Sunday, October 12th. The event is free, but there will be a freewill offering basket at the door. Bethany is organizing a group outing to this event. We’ll meet at the school, sit together and meet at Mary’s Place for dinner after the concert. Rides will be arranged for anyone needing one. Old Time Gospel Sing-Along
Join the Old Time Gospel Sing-Along by Paul Pagel and his “Sunshiners”! There will be a light lunch and Saturday School Alumni Reunion at St. Paul Lutheran Church, N926 Dale Ave., Dale, WI on Oct. 5 starting at 3 p.m. in celebration of the 50 years of teaching Saturday school. Bring your memories and stories of Saturday School. Free-will offering will benefit the St. Paul Elevator Fund. RSVP for the luncheon by calling Sandy Meyer, 920-779-6777.
Handbell Players Needed
1 or 2 Handbell Players needed to complete our group of 11. Contact Arlyss Troge 920-915-7363 for more information. Some knowledge of music is helpful, but you don't have to have handbell experience. It's a very enjoyable group to be in!

Ride Help for Older Members
We have a number of older members who cannot make it to church by themselves but would still love to attend. If you are able to help out by picking someone up on the way to church and bringing them home afterwards, that would be greatly appreciated! Let Sarah know in the office if you would be willing to help.

Candy Donations
We are now accepting candy donations for Trick or Treating! Bethany will be giving out candy for the neighborhood during city wide Trick or Treating again this year, October 31st from 4-8, as well as having firepits going for smores. So smores ingredients are welcome also. And, if you’d like to decorate your car for a trunk or treat line-up, we’d love to get a good number of vehicles! Sign-up sheet is in the entry way.
Bethany's Senior Dinner
Bethany’s Senior Dinner is scheduled for October 10th. This is an opportunity for our retired members to socialize and enjoy a festive meal. It will begin with a church service with communion at 10:00am. After the service, we will have time for fellowship with the dinner to follow. Sign-up sheets will be available in the welcome center.
Apple Valley Food Pantry Help
We are looking for a volunteer to help out with the food pantry. It would be delivery and pickup of food items one Saturday every third month. It would take approximately 1-2 hours of your time. LWMS Fall Rally
The Fall Rally of the Paperland Circuit will be held on October 11, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran, Green Bay. 8 am-registration/refreshments; 9 am-12:20 pm-meeting/speaker. The sign-up is in the Welcome Center. The theme is “From Our Plans to His Purpose: Mission Journey in Pakistan.”
Little Blessings Playgroup
Join us! Little Blessings Playgroup will be meeting October 4th, at 9:00am at Jones Park. Enjoy time together with other families. There will be snacks provided, a bible story and an activity. We hope to see you there!

Musicians and Tech Personnel - Help Wanted
Calling all musicians and tech personnel! We are interested in finding out what musical talent we have at Bethany and then putting that talent to good use! Are you a pianist, guitarist, percussionist, or vocalist (or know someone who should be)? We would love to have you involved in worship, so please consider contacting us for a chance to see how you might fit into our worship experience! Additionally, we are always looking for volunteers in our tech booth for presenting and live-streaming our services. Training is provided. Administrative Assistant Employment Opportunity
Bethany is seeking a dependable, organized, and friendly Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the church office and helping our ministries run smoothly. Responsibilities include but are not limited to answering phones and emails, preparing bulletins and newsletters, maintaining our church website, church records and calendars, social media posts, assisting the pastors with scheduling and communications, and greeting visitors. Ideal candidates will have strong communication and computer skills, be detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a faith-based environment. Prior office or administrative experience is preferred. Ascension Service @ St. Paul
On Thursday, May 29 at 6:30pm, St. Paul, Appleton will be hosting an area Ascension Service – 302 N. Morrison St. There will be refreshments in the basement of St. Paul after the service.
FVL Announcements
· Urgent need for host families! Thank you to those who have volunteered to be host families for 2025-26. We still have 20 students who are waiting for housing. Girls needing housing are from France, Spain, Germany, S. Korea, and China. Boys needing housing are from Vietnam, Spain, Luxemburg, and China. Consider hosting an international student, so they can get a Christ-centered education at FVL. · Registration for FVL's annual Golf Outing (June 13) is closed, as the event is full; however, donation and sponsorship opportunities are available. Find donation and sponsorship info at fvlhs.org/golf.
· Fox Valley Lutheran High School will be hosting the 2025 WELS National Choral Fest in November. The festival steering committee is looking for people with catering or product-procurement experience (including managing a concessions stand) to assist with a meal and snack committee in preparation for this event.
