Camp Basic - Help Needed
Camp BASIC (Brothers And Sisters In Christ) is a week-long WELS Bible Camp for people with special needs. This is the 40th year of Camp. It takes place at Wyalusing State Park near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin in their beautiful indoor camp facility which includes four cabins, a main lodge and an awesome fire pit singing area. Usually there are months to plan for camp, however, just last week the facility confirmed! Now they are scrambling for counselors. Camp BASIC will take place from June 20 – 26, 2021. It is the goal to assign one camper to one counselor. Each camper/counselor pair will eat meals together, attend Bible lessons, singing, crafts, and other fun activities together. The group enjoy various off-campus activities like fishing, swimming, hiking, and bowling. You’ll sing, laugh, and sometimes even cry together. Every year they grow closer to Jesus and make some awesome friendships. This year there are 23 campers signed up but only 8 counselors. All WELS families or individuals are welcome. For more information, check out the website at www.campbasic.com. This event is free for all counselors and includes food, a t-shirt and amazing memories and new friendships. If you have any questions or would like to learn more, please call Pastor Dave Pries at 920-285-1068.
Another way you can be of service to Camp BASIC is to make some cookies. They need hundreds of dozens of them. Please consider sharing your cookie craft and supporting Camp with your delicious treats. You can deliver your cookies to Eternal Love Lutheran Church no later than 9:45 am on Sunday June 20. Please package them in a disposable container that you will not need returned., label them, and indicate if there are peanuts or peanut butter in your cookies.

We will share this study via Zoom at the same time for those who would like to join us that way. We will have someone monitoring the Zoom each week who will be ready to relay any questions or comments you might wish to share with the class. We will ask you to use the chat feature so that they can be passed along to me. I will strive to restate any questions from our in-person class for those who are joining us via Zoom. During our time together this Summer I trust that the Holy Spirit will strengthen in each of us the confession about Jesus made by his first disciples: “You are the Christ” (Mark 8:29).

One By One Bible Study
Our new Bible study will begin next week!
Personal contact is one of the many casualties of COVID-19. Many of you have been separated from family and friends, and are only beginning to reconnect. As a congregation, we have been separated from one another and not able to enjoy many of the fellowship opportunities that we used to take for granted. Worship, Bible study, and meetings have all been carried out through online tools such as a Facebook and Zoom. And even now, as we are beginning to gather more and more, these online options are still in place and in use by many, and may be for some time. But let’s not forget the importance of personal contact, not only in our relationships with family members, friends, and church members, but also in the relationships we hope to build with those who need to hear the good news of Jesus. This study is based on Pastor David Rosenau’s keynote presentation at the WELS National Conference on Lutheran Leadership in January of 2020. Using powerful personal stories and drawing from his wealth of experience both as a detective and a parish pastor, Pastor Rosenau helps Christians understand why it is so important to see every soul as a treasure and why we want to be willing to spend the time and effort necessary to share the gospel with each one. You can join us IN PERSON in the Parkway Campus lower level fellowship hall:

Looking ahead to Holy Week
Our service schedule is posted on our website. We will continue to provide a link to sign-up for these services in the emails we send out between now and Easter. Please take a look and sign-up for the various services as soon as you can, so that we can do our best with the limited capacity to welcome as many worshippers as possible. If you know that you will have additional family members worshipping with you for any of those services, please include them on the sign-up as well. Also, please consider who you might invite for these special services where the good news of all that Jesus did to redeem us in his death and resurrection will be proclaimed!
