LWMS Door Offering - March 16-18

Next weekend, March 16-18, we will collect a door offering in support of - First Public Service Assistance - Your gifts will assist home mission churches in purchasing studies to help them plan their outreach efforts. These studies help the new home mission churches reach out effectively to understand their neighborhoods' makeup. The other half goes towards a world mission - Bangladesh Projects - WELS is working with a young Christian man from Bangladesh living in America, who is a WELS member and enrolled in the Pastoral Studies Institute (PSI), to run two international friendship centers in his Midwest city and across the border in Canada. Your gifts will provide Bibles in Bangladesh and other general support for mission work occurring in North America and in Bangladesh.

What do you think of when you hear the words, ‘a pastoral setting?’ Do you think of a Kentucky farm, with fields of bluegrass, ringed by split-rail fences, with thoroughbred horses cavorting? New Sermon Series - Psalms for Lent: The Struggle

·The road to the cross was a struggle. This Lenten season, we see Jesus rejected by his people and betrayed by his disciple. The struggle was real. The Christian life is a struggle too.  Faith in Christ doesn’t make us exempt from difficulties. But faith in Christ does give us strength to press on. The weekends this Lenten season, we will meditate on the words of the Psalm writers, who put the struggle of the believer into poetry and prayer. Their God is our God. This is a Savior who entered our struggle to win the victory over the struggle, to equip us for our struggle. The struggle is real. The struggle is good.
